This Privacy Policy explains how Tyler Fuqua, a sole proprietor based in Colorado, United States (“Standing Watch,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the Standing Watch mobile application (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
In plain terms: Standing Watch does not require an account, does not sell or rent your data, does not show ads, and does not track you across other apps or websites. The details below explain exactly what the App uses and why.

We collect only what the App needs to function. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or Apple ID, and we do not require you to create an account.

We do not integrate any third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not use the App to track you across other apps or websites. Because we do not track, no App Tracking Transparency prompt is required.
We do not use your information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you, and we do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising.
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on: your consent (for location access and notifications, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings); our legitimate interests (to secure and operate the service); and performance of our agreement with you (to provide the App).
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only as follows:
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, as summarized in the table in Section 2. Location used to answer a request is not retained in a profile about you. You can delete saved places and device data at any time by deleting them in the App, disabling notifications, or deleting the App.
Information is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection, and we use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect it. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on your state (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah), you may have the right to know, access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to appeal a decision. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling. The App collects one category considered sensitive — precise geolocation — which we use only to provide the features you request. To exercise a right, email standingwatchapp@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Because we do not maintain accounts, we may need information to verify a request or may be unable to associate a request with data if none is linked to you.
If the GDPR applies to you, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Contact us at the address above to exercise these rights.
The App does not track users across third-party apps or websites, so it does not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Standing Watch aggregates publicly available data from U.S. government and other public sources. These include the National Weather Service / NOAA (weather, alerts, radar, storm reports, river levels, snow, tropical outlook, buoys, space weather and aurora, tides, and lightning), the USGS (earthquakes, volcano alerts, wind turbines), NASA FIRMS and NIFC (wildfire hotspots, perimeters, and fire danger), the U.S. EPA (air quality, UV index, radiation, and facility / toxics / Superfund data), FEMA (flood zones), the U.S. Drought Monitor, the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, PHMSA (pipelines), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (dams and ports), the U.S. Department of Defense and DOT NTAD (military installations and rail), the FAA (airports), the FCC (antenna structures, licensed radio sites, and amateur callsigns), the USGS Protected Areas Database (public-land boundaries and ownership), HIFLD public-domain infrastructure data, state Departments of Transportation, the Iowa Environmental Mesonet, and OpenStreetMap contributors (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL). The base map and traffic are provided by Apple Maps. A current, itemized list is always available in the App under Settings → Data sources.
Standing Watch is operated in the United States, and information is processed and stored on servers located in the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Standing Watch aggregates third-party public data for situational awareness. It is not affiliated with any government agency, is not an official warning or emergency-alerting system, and should not be relied upon as your sole source of safety information. Your use of the App is also governed by our Terms of Service, which contain important disclaimers and limitations of liability.
We may update this Policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date, and your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
